About Us
AXIA Taverna began in 2006 with the vision of Michael F. Parlamis, a longtime
resident of Tenafly. He built the restaurant for his beloved wife, Marge Parlamis,
and named it “Axia” which means “Worthy” in Greek – as he felt her most worthy.
Michael and his son, Alex Parlamis together developed over 700 restaurants
throughout the Metropolitan area. Michael and Alex created AXIA from the
ground up with Alex Parlamis now overseeing operations.
AXIA is now run by the Parlamis Family, Executive Chef Alex Gorant and General
Manager Tim Vlahopoulos.
